Urban Design Fundamentals

October 5, 2011adminTraining

TransForm Places offers a range of training sessions designed to give communities and professionals a better understanding of current issues and access to best practice and information. A good first session is our Urban Design Fundamentals training, a full-day session with workshops and seminars that cover the basic principles through to applying them in practice. The session was delivered by Sue McGlynn and Prof Ian Bentley for the North Northamptonshire Joint Planning Unit (NNJPU) and over thirty local authority planning and highways officers attended.

The key learning points from this session included the how the basic urban design principles combine to deliver places that are attractive and successful, both in terms of visitor experience but also in a commercial sense. We also carried out workshops that allowed delegates to apply what they had learned to potential development sites and these were discussed in the feedback sessions.

You can book a session like this by getting in touch via our contact page. We also offer bespoke courses that can be targeted to address any issue you may be facing.
